“I didn’t find music, music found me.”
Pittsburgh born, globally known. James Fedd creatively known as Fedd The God is a product of the Steel City, raised in the Northview Heights section of Pittsburgh, PA, where the realities of the block shaped both the man and the music. "Growing up in Northview Heights, man, I've seen it all," he says. "The environment was rough, and we didn't know anything else. I tried to keep to myself, for the most part." That same environment became the foundation for an artist who now moves audiences far beyond the city limits.
Born James William Fedd Jr, his musical journey started almost by accident in 2005, making songs as a joke with a childhood friend. What began as a release became a calling after the death of his friend Trillzee. "He was making music and was about to crack off, so I felt the responsibility to pick up where he left off and keep this going." Inspired by Master P and motivated by his mother, who told him his ability to move people was a gift, he took the name Fedd The God, a nod to his last name and the Super Saiyan God form, and got to work.
He cut his teeth with the NWS collective and made "NFL," an anthem for his city, before an unlikely encounter changed his trajectory. A connection with Will Dzombak(Wiz Khalifa’s manager)soon took place and he took him under his wing in 2018, schooling him on the business and ultimately introducing him to Taylor Gang founder Wiz Khalifa in New York. "It's a family. They weren't trying to push nothing on me. It just flowed well. They were willing and wanted to teach me about the game. It's a blessing."
Since then, Pittsburgh's hometown talent has become a genuine road warrior. Fedd The God has performed in front of more than one million live fans across four national tours and 80-plus dates, from intimate clubs to arenas like Barclays Center and Bridgestone Arena, spanning over 60 cities and 20 states throughout the US. He has toured alongside Wiz Khalifa, Logic, Sean Paul, and DaBaby, taken festival stages at Rolling Loud and Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash, and stood on bills with Lil Uzi Vert, Post Malone, Playboi Carti, 2 Chainz, and Polo G.
The catalog matches the stage. On Spotify, records like "Activated" and "Yea Yup" have each drawn millions of streams. On YouTube, his videos have amassed 6.7 million views and more than 175,000 hours of watch time. And on Instagram, a 55.9K following has fueled 3 million views and over hundreds of thousands of interactions in the past six months alone.
From a 1200 block in Northview Heights to stages across North America, Fedd The God carries his city with him everywhere he goes, and he is just getting started. "World domination is the plan," he says. "Nothing less."
